Projects with product management and development work

      Kaushal: a vocational Ed-tech platform

Relevant work: Developed idea hypothesis and validated it through ethnographic user research. Created user requirements and product vision document after extensive market and competitor analysis. Also designed the UI mockups and the system architecture, build a product roadmap, and prioritized user stories for MVP.

Back story: I had observed the problem of unemployment and unskilled labour in India. I wanted to build a web-based platform on which people will upskill themselves in basic skills required to do odd jobs like plumbing, being an electrician etc. At CMU, I got to work on this idea from proper problem definition to customer discover to architecture design (and everything in between).

      ML -based depression detection solution

Relevant work: Led a team of 4 to conduct technical paper reviews. Conducted user research to create user personas and solution modeling. Later prioritized functional user stories, drafted Minimum Viable Product (MVP) while also documenting the user guide, managing sprints and delivering product milestones.

Back story: My team and I are working on develop an intelligent solution that will detect potential depression (short-term) and notify the person. This started as an academic project at CMU. I got to work in the capacity of a Product Manager and the team brainstormed on this idea from technical research to problem statement definition to customer discovery to architecture and UI design (and everything in between).

      Covid-19 vaccine notifier

It notifies you when a vaccine slot is available in your locality. It opens a tab in your browser, and directs you to the covid-19 government of India's registration portal, as soon as a vaccine is available, for your age in your district.

Back story: This was created after identifying the problem of covid-19 vaccination slots booking. Slots would open up at any point of time in the day and get booked within 10-12 seconds. So this notification system was created.

      Covid-19 vaccine locator

It helps you in filtering out all the health care centres with availability of covid-19 vaccines in India. It resolves few of the issues present with official government website as it launched, such as filtering only those centres that had vaccines available for the user's age group.

Back story: This was created after observing that in a given district there would be 25+ health care centres with vaccine. But not all would have vaccines and even if available, vaccines won't be available for all age groups. Finding the correct slot was a pain and this application was to tackle that pain point of public.

    Projects with backend development work

      Movie recommendation engine (like Netflix/Prime)

It is a system that recommends movies to a person based on the ratings of several movies by other people of similar age. It will recommend movie even if there is not an exact age match. Also, it skips all those movies that were rated 2 or below, even if it's listed against a particular age.

Back story: This was a college assignment at Carnegie Mellon University.

      Language translator and detector

It is a language translator which covers 106 global languages including 11 Indian local languages. It can not only translate languages but also can detect a given language.

Back story: This was a side project; an experimentation/play around with Google Cloud Translation API.

      PDF Converter

A pdf converter which converts any of the 'word' document to pdf. It can successfully convert any of the given formats: doc, docx, odt, dotx, rtf, txt to pdf.

Back story: This was just a side project.

      Rail Journey Manager

It is an application that helps you track your ticket status (pending/confirm) from the PNR, the itinerary of your train and the current train status.

Back story: This was just another side project.

      Tic-Tac-Toe game

A basic version of the tic-tac-toe game. Enjoy!

Back story: This was a learning python project.

      Black Jack game

A basic version of the black jack game. Enjoy!

Back story: This was also a learning python project.

Projects with design or prototype only

      EP Tracker

An application that would help AIESEC members track the status (phase) of their EPs, pending items to complete before the exchange happens and a record of each of the lead.

Back story: This was designed after identifying the hurdles faced by fellow AIESEC members, while EP management face.

      Game of Elements

A gaming application that would help students memorise the periodic table of chemistry. Player would only move ahead if s/he inputs the next element correctly. The game had two levels. Beginners level would get a hint the next element while at advance level, there would not be any hints.

Back story: This was designed during a two hours' competition by Mozilla, Bhubaneswar. The idea came from the periodic table memorization challenges faced during school days.
